Wildfire Update: 14,117 Acres Burned, Containment at 27%

As of this morning’s update from InciWeb, the wildfire has burned 14,117 acres and is 27% contained. A dedicated force of 3,155 firefighters remains on the front lines, working to manage the blaze and protect affected communities.

Current Situation

Overnight, firefighters continued tactical patrols and responded to public calls for service. Strong winds contributed to increased fire activity, including flare-ups within the burn area. Despite these challenges, minimal fire growth is anticipated today. Smoldering and creeping behavior persists in heavy fuels and burned structures.

Fire crews are not only focused on containing the perimeter but are also mitigating hazard trees along roadways to ensure the safety of both firefighters and the public.

Weather Conditions

A Red Flag Warning remains in effect for upper elevations through next week, driven by gusty and dry northeast Santa Ana winds. These winds are expected to be most intense at higher elevations and along ridge tops, posing additional challenges to containment efforts.

Looking Ahead

Today’s efforts will continue to prioritize perimeter control, hazard mitigation, and monitoring flare-ups. Burned structures and heavy fuel areas will remain hotspots of concern for firefighting teams.

Further updates, including detailed damage assessments, can be found in the full report on InciWeb.

Safety Reminder

Residents in the area are urged to stay informed and adhere to any evacuation orders or safety advisories issued by local authorities. Firefighters are working tirelessly to protect communities, and public cooperation remains vital during this critical time.
